Due to my general laziness, you get a double update tonight!
First album
In the first set, the interior painting of the first floor was finished, and the original hardwood floors where sanded down. The decks also got installed along with the railings, and it was awesome to hang out on them.
The floors under the laminate in the living and dining rooms were interesting. They had three different species of wood, two varieties of oak around the perimeter in a nice decorative pattern, and a cheap pine in the center. I guess they used to do this to save money, assuming there would always be a rug in the center of the room to hide the cheaper pine. There are a couple photos of the stain samples we were offered: A natural wood one with almost no color, a medium brown and an antique brown. We chose the antique brown, which you can see in the second album.
Second Album
In this update you can see the finished floors downstairs, and see all the hard work paying off painting the upstairs. The exterior paint is really coming along as well, and the house is starting to look fantastic. There was a problem with the texture on one of the family room walls, and you can see where it all had to be scraped off. They will fix and repaint it, this week. The carpet also goes in this week, as well as the final cleanup and inspection! The only thing we might not get to is painting the master bedroom. The vaulted ceilings will slow that down a bit.
WE ARE MOVING INTO THE HOUSE IN 13 DAYS!
